AQUINO-COJUANGCO Videos on YouTube

This has got to be one of those blog entries that will not reap a lot of happy thoughts from blog readers. Nonetheless, waking up and browsing to Facebook today and seeing a few shares of these videos made our stoked traveler not so stoked about the day. So he decided he'd blog about his thoughts before grabbing a quick breakfast (yes! our blogger went online before taking his breakfast today)

Here's a video uploaded by PinoyMonkeyPride (you tube):

Cinematically, this is a very well made video (except for the part where they placed word balloons next to Jose Rizal). Our blogger recalls the time when he was still playing role-playing games on playstation or the PC where the background sounds and stills were just as interesting.

Our blogger has been involved in a few journalistic stints back when he was still a student. At a young age, student journalists participating in press conferences are already very much opinionated in how events unfold and how the media presents them to the public. Thus, they are thought to stick to facts and not to sensationalize the stories. Media today is as much of a money-maker just like TV drama or movies. Thus, can you blame TV networks to put a little twist to make their scoop a bit more interesting? It's sad that the news reporters/writers are now the ones 'making the news' instead of just telling them as it should be.

His impression on this video's substance? There may be truth into some of it but then again one can easily notice that the video itself is a propaganda. If it were only really to educate the Filipino people and not cause a revolt then they could've stuck with the facts and let go of the side-remarks. It is a good watch but take caution not to be easily swayed by public opinion.

Here's another video uploaded by PinoyMonkeyPride (you tube):

Filipinos today should be a lot wiser than to start another EDSA revolt (it's so overrated) or another impeachment. The nation deserves the president it elects and unless reform in our electoral system is made, it is always going to be those who seem to think of themselves as the 'masa' who will dictate our nation's course. They are the real 'dictators', not the president nor those politicians who enjoy their monthly paychecks.

The blogger is no fan of Noynoy nor is he a fanatic of Marcos (he would've went for Gordon or Villar during the last election). He admires the piety of Cory and for that he doesn't think that she is evil as what she is being portrayed in some of the videos. He admires Ferdinand Marcos for his known intelligence and ability to effect positive change. He admires Ninoy for his equal intelligence and ambition similar with Marcos. But someday, the Marcos-Aquino families has to stop being in the government. Their children may not be as wise as their parents. Apples will sometimes fall far from the apple tree.

The generation today is taught that martial law is bad, Ferdinand Marcos is a dictator and Cory delivered the nation from the clutches of tyranny. These are the basic tenets taught at school regarding the Marcos-Aquino years. This is inculcated in everyday television and newspapers.

However, taking into consideration how the nation has nose-dived into poverty since the Aquino presidency, one has to think, was it really a good thing to unseat Marcos and let an overrated democracy take over? Democracy is great but too much democracy leads to anarchy (lawlessness). It seems that along with freeing the nation from martial law, the nation also freed itself completely from any form of law..
