Cebu City, Cebu | A Food Lover's Retreat with a Touch of History

For many of his travels, the stokedtraveler would create schedules and plot out activities. Which places should he visit and what things should he do are usually on top of his itinerary for his trips. That was his only way of travel. That was until his recent Cebu trip.

Travelling without any travel plans can also be fun. Never expecting what to expect and doing what you feel doing for that day can free you of worries and keeps you amazed of things that come. This may not always be the best way to travel but for as long as you are with good company then everything is going to turn out alright.

Read through the stokedtraveler's day-to-day highlights in Cebu as he joins two of his great friends on their first time in the queen city of the south.

Day 1. Failed flight, Apt accommodation and a well-deserved authentic Filipino dinner!

Day 4 was the last day of the trip in Cebu. The stokedtraveler and his friend decided to take a break from going out. They stayed at the hotel until check out then proceeded to SM City Cebu to pass time until their flight.

SM City Cebu had a really nice traveller's lounge where traveller's can leave their bags (for a fee). They also allow use of the C.R. and shower rooms (for a fee of course) for those needing it.

CNT lechon was just in front of SM City Cebu and the stokedtraveler was tempted to try one last lechon. Unfortunately, just like in Zubuchon, CNT also ran out of lechon by the time it was the stokedtraveler's turn on the line. Feeling defeated, he told his friend to just have their lunch in Ayer's Lechon which was another lechon place just inside SM City Cebu. The lechon was the typical lechon that can be tasted in Manila. It tasted good too but still the stokedtraveler wanted to know what made CNT lechon more popular than the rest.

Their return flight this time wasn't delayed. In fact, it took off a little too early. Still wasn't a good deal with airasia changing flight patterns just like that. Good thing they went to the check in counters early.

Note: Cebu taxi drivers just like in Manila can be scheming and not all can be trusted. They can easily spot tourists and may take you to routes longer than you should just to get a higher metered rate. Best take the jeepneys or be prepared with your own GPS just so you are aware if the taxi driver is taking the longer route.
