A great way to start another year of travelling is to go
where your heart beats. To the stokedtraveler that place is the calming sight
of the ocean, the stimulating view of sunset and the clashing of the waves.
Another trip back to San Juan, La Union for an "overnighter" with HP surf shack
may have ignited this travel bug’s passion to go places.

When you surf the waves you will find that it is always
harder to get back up than to stay on top. Waves will wrestle you and prevent
you from going to that right spot. Patience will also be tested. Being at the
right spot doesn’t always mean you will be able to ride the right wave. The
stokedtraveler finds that it is only with the right amount of determination
that you can keep you going in this sport. This is the poetry in surfing that
only those stoked about it can understand. This is the same poetry that one
such as the stokedtraveler finds himself in everyday.
It has been especially difficult to come up with this year’s
travel plans. 2013 has already started to present itself as a year of facing
challenges for the stokedtraveler. From the seemingly endless supply of work
from his day job to the equally perpetual life challenges, he is nothing but
overwhelmed by all the things that are on his way this year. A challenge is
presented therefore a challenge must be accepted. So the stokedtraveler says ‘bring
it on!’
This is the year to explore. So were the previous years and
the years to come. Every day is a day to travel. The stokedtraveler hopes this
post reaches out to all aspiring travelers to release themselves from the
chains of monotonous life routines and see where life will take them.
How do you get by life’s ups and downs? How far will you go for passion? What holds you back?
It’s easy to find unease or discomfort in a world full of strangers, but still you ask yourself – what keeps you going? And where do you find inspiration? Who takes charge of your destiny?
In this lifetime, you win some, you lose some but it’s how you deal with it afterwards that always matter. To live is to survive. What is there to lose? What will it take for you to live your dreams?
